Lake Ontario Fishing Charters

A nice Lake Ontario April Brown Trout

Are you looking for your next memorable Lake Ontario experience with family and friends?  Book a Lake Ontario fishing charter and let me provide you with that experience.  I operate a premier Lake Ontario fishing charter for king salmon, coho salmon, steelhead, brown trout, and lake trout.  To assure this, my Lake Ontario Charters leave from Wright’s Landing Marina in Oswego, NY.

Why Oswego versus other Lake Ontario ports you might ask?

I selected Wright’s Landing Marina for my Lake Ontario fishing charters because it has the best facility in Oswego with wide and stable docks, ample parking for clients and modern bathroom facilities.  It also happens to be located in Oswego County which currently holds 12 World and State Record Fish from Lake Ontario or Lake Ontario tributaries.  Of these records, 10 are for our targeted sportfish on our Lake Ontario charters; king salmon, coho salmon, king/coho hybrids, steelhead, and brown trout!

To make your trip easier to plan and enjoy, I include all necessary tackle and bait, fish cleaning, and ice for your catch.  All you need to bring is your food, drink, a fishing license and most importantly, your desire to have fun!

Come relax, have fun and enjoy all that Lake Ontario has to offer!

Meet Captain Andy

With nearly 20 years of Lake Ontario angling experience and over 10 years of Guiding and Chartering experience, I strive to provide the Lake Ontario fishing experience you desire.  Although my primary goal is to offer my Clients the best Lake Ontario sportfishing opportunity possible, I also provide a social and comfortable environment to promote a well-rounded Lake Ontario experience which is really more than “just fishing”.

I began Broad Horizons Guide and Charter Service after some time of Guiding fishing trips and deciding I want to grow my business to provide Lake Ontario fishing charters.  Since 2009, I have been actively evolving my business to offer my Clients the best and most enjoyable Lake Ontario fishing experiences possible.

Over the years, the two biggest changes have been the purchase of my current boat, a Penn Yan Predator with twin inboards and the choice of docking at Wright’s Landing Marina in Oswego, NY.  The purchase of my larger boat offers my Lake Ontario charter Clients much more space and fishing room than my previous boat along with the comforts of better seating and an enclosed and private bathroom.  Aside from Oswego’s reputation for productive Lake Ontario sportfishing, it offers more direct travel routes for distant Clients and more marina amenities along with convenient lodging and dining options within a reasonable distance.

Come on everyone, Think Spring!

I know I can't wait to be out on Lake Ontario brown trout fishing in Early April. Last season, April and May gave us stellar brown trout fishing near shore in the shallow water. I don't expect the 2018 Season to start off any different!

Spring trout fishing is a great opportunity for a family charter. The equipment is lighter weight and much easier for children to handle.

Don't wait to book your trip and end up missing out on this great family opportunity! Check out my website and feel free to contact me with any questions!

Broad Horizons Guide and Charter Service is feeling grateful in Oswego, New York.

Happy New Year to everyone!

This is a picture I took of Oswego Harbor today, January 1, 2018! Its hard to imagine that in just 3 months, I'll be fishing brown trout in this very same view!

As I sat in the truck at the overlook above the Marina today, I couldn't help but reflect upon the 2017 Season. It was certainly my busiest season to date. I had some very awesome groups this year.

I'm not talking about piles of fish like my Spring trout fishing or the amazing evening king bite in late August and September. Or any of the other great days offshore or even fishing summer browns when I had to because of short weather windows on a couple days.

I'm reminiscing about my experiences with my Client's themselves. Things like whenever one crew threw hot dogs on the grill, a rod would go off; joking about the big green blinky, how they can sell fishermen anything...putting it down on its maiden voyage and then not being able to keep it down for an hour (to my disbelief); a few different groups of Russians taking pictures with Chernobyl in the back ground; the Philipino ladies who had me laughing so hard on the dock that my stomach hurt and we couldn't even fish that morning due to weather; I can go on and on... wait... one more... Leo in the bikini top (that's all I'm saying about that trip! You guys know who you are!)

These memories show me that my business is really much more than my job, it is my life and I'm thankful that all of you have been and are part of it. It means a lot to me.

This reminds me of when Bill and Randy gave Hank Searles the collage of pictures from chartering with Hank for 20 plus years. That showed me that we develop relationships with our Clients on a personal level also, way beyond business. That is certainly happening with my groups!

I had an awesome 2017 Season, and actually the last 8 seasons! I can't wait to see what 2018 brings! Don't hesitate to start booking your dates now, especially for weekend days.

In the meantime, it is going to blow and snow and I'm just going to have to steelhead fish in the drift boat on the Salmon River...trips are available!

Thank you again everyone!
